October 9,2023 Regular Monthly Township Meeting
The Meeting was called to order by Harlan Larson. Board members present are Harlan Larsen, Franklin Fitch, Pat Prodzinski, Kim Skappel and Rita Prodzinski.
Rita read the minutes. Pat Prodzinski made a motion to accept the minutes. Franklin Fitch 2nd the motion. The minutes were accepted as read.
Glen and Denise Palecek thanked the board for all the work in Pickwick. They asked about getting their road, Little Trout Valley Road, blacktopped. It is only 6 tenths of a mile long. The board explained that there were other roads in worse shape that were a priority. Steve Baechler asked if there was a list of the roads to be blacktopped. Pat Prodzinski said that they could do that, but if road issues came up, the priority list could change. Harlan explained the hills and roads that have been done recently. Michael Busch asked how many miles there are in Homer Township. There are 33 miles in Homer Township. $215,000 budgeted for roads and bridges in 2024. We have 4 bridges and are partially responsible for the Homer township Dam.
Anna Driscoll expressed concerns about the bids and how the township handles the estimates and bids. There was much discussion on gravel and blacktop.
Pat talked to Jason Keller about the bid.
We received something from Gordians Knot and they are still working on it. Haven’t received anything from Tom Conway.
Paul Richards has reclaimed his trail. All the signs were delivered and Harlan and Pat installed them.
We discussed an ad for sealed bids and the timeline.
Michael Busch asked about pictures of the building. There was more discussion about the pictures of the building and the availability for the public to see them. It was suggested that they be put on the website and on the Facebook page.
Kim Skappel shared with the group that the Covid money now has different limitations and can be used for other things.
There was a lot of confusion about the building vote and what it will look like!
There was also more discussion on the voting and the annual meeting.
Frank Fitch made a motion to adjourn, Pat Prodzinski 2nd. Meeting adjourned at 6:30PM.
Respectfully Submitted
Rita Prodzinski, Clerk
Harlan Larsen, Chair
